With the monsoon season approaching, the Dadra & Nagar Haveli administration has entered alert mode to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria.

A crucial inter-departmental coordination meeting was held at the Silvassa Collectorate under the chairmanship of Deputy Collector Amit Kumar. The meeting was organized by the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP).

State Programme Officer Dr. Ganesh Varnekar presented a detailed overview of:
- Current vector-borne disease trends
- Identification of sensitive and high-risk zones
- Expected increase in cases during monsoon
Waterlogging and poor sanitation during monsoon create ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes, increasing health risks.
